HomeMy WebLinkAbout06111962597 June llth. 1962 The Board of Commissioners met with the Board of Welfare on Monday, June llth. at 2:00 P. M. Present were Commissioners Cameron, Byrd and Warren, absent were Chairman Tart and Commissioner Barefoot. Present also were Dr. Blackmon, Gattis Thomas and Commissioner Warren for the Welfare Board. Also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor, Lela Moore Hall, Director of Public Welfare,and the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, Dr. Blackmon and Lela Moore Hall presented the Welfare Budget for study. Motion made by Dr. Blackmon, seconded by Commissioner Byrd that two workers be cut off of the Welfare personnel and that Miss Hall revise the budget to stay within last years figure or budget with the exception of $300.00 for enovid. Motion carried. The joint meeting recessed to reconvene jointly on Thursday June 14th. at 7 ;30 P. M. The Board of Commissioners then reconvened and the following business was transacted. The Board appointed Willie Watkins Owen, Constable in Black River Township to begin his duties as of this date. Bond in amount of $1000.00 with Willie Watkins Owen, as Principal, was approved and ordered filed. New Amsterdam Casualty Company 227 St. Paul Street Public Official Bond Blatimore, Md. KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: Thkt Willie Watkins Owens as Principal, hereinafter called "Principal" and the New Amsterdam Casualty Company, a corporation of the State of New York, as Surety, hereinafter called "Surety ", are held and firmly bound unto the Harnett County Board of Commissioners in the penalty of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) to thepayment whereof, well and truly to be made and done, the said Principal and Surety bind themselves, their heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns jointly and severally, firmly and these presents; SIGNED, SEALED AND DATED this 5th day of June 1962, The Condition of the aforegoing obligation is such, that whereas, the said Principal has been elected or appointed to the office of Constable- Black Rivet for the term beginning June 4, 1962, and ending Dec. 3, 1962. Now Therefore, if the said Principal shall well and faithfully perform, according to law, all and singular the duties incumbent upon him by reason of his eleotion or appointment to the said office, then this obligation shall be null and void; otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue/ IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the said Principal and Surety have caused this in- strument to be signed and their seals to be hereunto affixed, the day and year first above written.
