Also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor and the Clerk to the Board. The following reports were approved and filed: Inez Harrington Elizabeth F. Matthews D. P. Ray Kyle Harrington L. B. McLean Ray Thomas Ken Black B. H. Sellers Roy Godwtn Register of Deeds Clerk Superior Court Tax Collector Clerk Recorders Court Veterans Service Officer Dog Warden Dog Warden County Electrical Inspector County Electrical Inspector The Board approved the following road oetitions: (1) To add to the system that road known as Magnolia Road in Dunn Averasboro Two. (Petition mailed) (2) To add to State System that street in Erwin known as "J" Street (Petition mailed) (3) To add that road to the system known as Neill McFarland Road in Barbecue Two. (Petition mailed) (4) 144 ?add that road known as Cemetery road in Erwin, (Petition mailed) Be it resolved that, that property formerly owned by Lydia C. Pearson in Barbecue Pnwnshio and acquired by Harnett County under tax foreclosure S D # 2954 A- 1958 be sold to Arlene P. McCrimmon. Jonesboro Hights # 6, for the sum of $86.00 and that she pay taxes for 1962 and listtaxes for following years. The Chairman is hereby authorized to execute deed and the Clerk to Board will attest same. Commissioner Warren moved seconded by Commissioner Byrd that Shelton Core be paid a salary of $50.00 per week as Janitor under supervisor of Court House Superintendent beginning March 5. 1962. Motion carried. The Board ordered that the County Offices be closed Monday April 23. for Easter Monday. Moved by Commissioner Byrd and seconded by Commissioner Cameron that Poll Tax for the year 1061 be refunded to Eldridge E. Matthews of Milton. Fla. due to an error In listing, Whereas it was an and has been the understanding of the Town Board of Lillington. N C. for the past four (4) years that the State Highway Commission would widen curb and gutter Highway No. 401. from the Court - House in Lillington to the city limits going south as soon as it has the necesary funds with which to do said work and Whereas, it has been found that the work can be done for approximately $ 30.000.00 less than it was first estimated. Now. therefore Be It Resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County in meeting assembled on Monday April 2. 1062. that they go on record as approving said project.
