The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, March 5th,
10:00 A. M., with all members present. Also present were the Auditor, the
County Attorney andtthe Clerk to the Board.
The Following Reports Were Approved and Filed:

The Board accepted the resignation of Estus
River Twp. effective as of this date.
The Following Road Petitons Were Approved:
(1) To add to system that road in Duke Township which starts
Store and Road # 1735 out into Road # 1740 a distance of 1 mile
(Petition mailed)
(2) To add to System and dragging Road # 1772 and drag :the dead
ing Road # 1772 in Duke Township.
(Petition mailed)
(3) To add to system that road which runs from west
"H° Street in Erwin, N. C. Duke Township.
(Petiton mailed)
(4) To add to System that road whioh'runs• from McDougald Road to N.
# 27 Highway a distam a of 12 miles.
(Petition mailed)
(5) To hard surface that road known as
distance of 4 miles in Barbecue Township.
(Petition mailed)
(6). To black top that road in Stewarts Creek Township, known as Thompson
Farm Road.
(Petition mailed)
(7) To extend that road which is known as Old Matthews Home road in
Neill's Creek Township which is 1 mile in distance corning out at Highway # 210.

Motion by Commissioner Barefoot and seconded by Commissioner Cameron that the
road work as suggested by Mr. Wilson and as shown by the map left by him on
March 5th. be. accepted.
At the request of the Harnett County Bar Association it was moved by
Commissioner Byrd and seconded by Commissioner Barefoot that Eight additional
Courts be requested in order to clean up the Civil Court calendar for Harnett
County.

Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Baref ot, that Moore,
Gardner & Associates, consulting Engineers of Ashboro N C. authorized to
make survey of parking facilities in vacant lot on the Court House square.
Motion carried.
It was moved by Commissioner Byrd and seconded by Commissioner Warren,
that the sum of $600.00 be transferred from the Old Age Assistance Fund to the.
A.P.J.D. Fund and the same was unanimously- approved.
It was moved by Commissioner Byrd and seconded by Commissioner Warren that
Ray Thomas be granted an indefinite leave of absence from April 28th. 1962
to enter the race for Sheriff of Harnett County.
Motion carried.
Commissioner Cameron moved seconded by Commissioner Barefoot -that $3000.00
be appropriated to meet the needs of indigent fund for hospitalization.
Motion carried.

Whereas a certain lot or parcel of lard was sold for taxes in Grove Township,
and final judgment was obtained as will appear of record in S D #
3010 -A- 1956.
And Whereas, Vara C. Ryals has offered the sum of $60.00 for the redemption
of the property and agreed to list the same for the year 1962.
Now, Therefore, upm motion of Commissioner Byrd and seconded by Commissioner
Warren it was unanimously approved and ordered that a deed be made for said
property.
