FEBRUARY 5th. 1962
The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session m Monday, February
5th, at 10:00 A. M., with L, A. Tart, Chairman, Worth Lee Byrd, A. C. Barefoot,
W. A, Warren and Alex Cameron present. Also oresent were the Cbrk to the Board
and the Auditor, Neill McK, Ross served as County Attorney at thiS meeting,

The Board ordered that $17.58 be refunded to Victor Mangum in Black River
Township, for year 1961, on a 1959 Galaxie listed to him by error in Harnett
County,
Mrs, Ruby Parker, Home Demonstration Agent, appeared before the Board and
gave a report of the work in her department.
Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Warren, that the following
Resolution be adopted.
Resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County:
That Whereas. the County IA now the owrn r of certain property,
by virtue of tax foreclosure, formerly belonging to Pauline Tart,
And Whereas, the said Pauline Tart desires to re- purchase said
property.
Now therefore, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners
of Harnett County that the Chairman is hereby authorized to negotiate
a contract with Pauline Tart for the purchase of said gi'operty at the
price of $1800,00, payable in installments of not less than $300, per
month with the further understanding that the said Pauline Tart will list
said property for the year 1962.
Motion carried,
The Following Road Petitions Were Approved:
(1) To add to State Highway System that road in Anderson Creek Township, which
is known as Shaw -Black Road a distance of 2 miles.

(2) To pave that road in Town ofAngier which runs from Road # 2762 southeast
to Kenebec a distance of 9/10 miles.

(3) To cave or black too that road in Butes Creek located off secondary
Road # 2000 to a dead end known as Blackmon Road a distance of 500 feet,

(4) To add to the State System that road in Buckhorn Two, which is 4/10
mile,

(5) To add to the State System that road leading from Fairground Road # 1715
to road known as Coats road.

(6) To Dave that road # 1280 in Upper Little River Township which is 9/10
miles.

(7) To extend that road in Barbecue Towns hip known as Road # 1215 to Road
# 1209
(Petition mailed)
Motion was made and Carried that the Board - appropriate 5500.00 to be expended
by the HarnettCounty Centenial Cpmmittee in marking and improving Historical
sights in Harnett County.
A motion was also made and carried that.the Board appropriate $500.00 to be ex-
pended by the Chicora Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy in marking
and improving Historical Sights in HarnettCounty.
The following resolution was adopted by the Board of Commissioners:
Be it Resolved by the Board that H. D. Carson, Jr. Fiscal Officer be authorized
to transfer such fund as he deems advisable to certificate of deposits.
The Board ordered that the resolution formerly adopted by the Board in regard
to the fees of the delinquent 'tax collector be amended to pay the delinquent tax
collector 20% of collections for year 1955 amd prior years and to pay 10% for 1956
through 1960.
