Tart, Chairman, and Commissioners Cameron, Barefoot and Warren present, net on Tuesday September 19th., at 2:00 P. M. with Lela Moore Hall, Superintendent of Public Welfare and Dr. Bruce Blackmon of the Welfare Board. Commissioner Worth Lee Byrd was absent, also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor and the Cbrk to the Board. In this joint meeting of the Harnett County Welfare Board and Board of County Commissioners a motion was made by Commission Cameron and seconded by Commissioner Barefoot that Harnett County accept $6500.00, that the Legislature of 1061 allocated to the various counties of the State under House Bill No. A motion made by Commissioner Cameron. and seconded by Commissioner Barefoot, that the 66500.00, that the county is to receive be used as follows: Increase in salaries in the Mis Lela Moore Hall Mrs. Marjorie Richey Mrs. Margaret Carringer Mrs. Emma Lee West Mrs. Naomi Hawley Welfare Department as follows: $ 50.00 per month 30.00 per month 30.00 per month 30.00 per month 20.00 per month or a total of salary increased and for retirement the amount of and for equipment Agp.oe. 91 .00 per year 3600 q.,� • Total $ 6500.00 And that any other monies coming to Harnett County from this same source be used for equipment. And that these salaries be retroactive to July 1st. 1961. Voting for: Cameron, Barefoot and Warren Dr. Blackmon die not vote and the motion was carried, The Board of Commissioners adopted the following resolution unanimously. A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on December, 1958, at a regular meeting ofthe Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, J. R. Young was appointed as County Attorney for the County of Harnett and was to be paid the sum of $240.00, per month, as such attorney, and, WHEREAS, There was no provision made for any additional compensation for work that he might do such as bringing tax suits or defending the county in any suits that might be instituted against the county, et cetra, now, there- fore BE IT RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners as of December, 1958. be amended to read as follows: That the County Attorney be paid a retainer of $2880.00 per ear, to be disbursed at tte rate of $240.00 per month, rather. than a salary of $240.00 per month which 'Cs and was the intent of the Commissioners at its meeting on December, 1958, at the time of the appointment.
