Also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor, and the Cbrk.to the Board. The Following Reports Were Approved and Filed: Inez Harrington D P Ray Kyle Harrington L B McLean Ray Thomas Ken Black Elizabeth F. Matthews B H Sellers Register of Deeds Tax Collector Clerk Recorders Court Veterans Service Officer Dog Warden Dog Warden Clerk Recorders Court County Electrical Inspector The resignation of Alma Jo Martin, Assistant Home Economics Agent to be effective as of August 15th. 1961, was accepted by the Board of Commissioners. The Following Road Petition was approved: (1) To add to State Highway System that road which begins on Old 421 to new 421 at Mrs. Charles Ross drive a distance of 1500 feet. (Petition mailed) Commissioner Warren moved, seconded by Commissioner Byrd, that upon recommendation of C R Ammons, County Agent, the following be named: To serve on County Agricultural Advisory Board: (3 years) M W Tilghman, Dunn James Davis, Rt. 6, Sanford Mrs. Cleon Wilson, Rt. 4 Dunn Mrs. Melvin Weeks, Dunn Judy Reardon, Butes Creek Motion carried Business and organization Negro Farmer Home Demonstration Member 4 -H Club Leader 4 -H Club Member Motion was made by Commissioner Byrd, seconded by Commissioner Barefoot the appropriation for the County Health budget for the year 1961 -62 be set at the same figure as was appropriated for the year 1960 -61 Motion carried. WHEREAS, D. P; Ray, Jr., was appointed and duly qualified as Harnett C -ounty Tax Collector for the year 1960 levy of County Taxes'and was charged with the duty of collecting all current and delinquent taxes and revenues due the County of Harnett for the period beginning July 1, 1960 and ending June 30, 1961; And, WHEREAS, the said D. P. Ray, Jr., Harnett County Tax Collector for the year 1960 levy has made settlement as provided by law for all items with which he was charged in connection with said 1960 levy; And, WHEREAS, the records of the said D. P. Ray, Jr. Harnett County Tax Collector, covering the collection of all taxes and revenues he was charged with the duty of collecting during said term have been audited by John E. Ingraham, Certified Public Accountant, and found to be correct; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSICNES of Harnett. County that the final settlementof D. P. Ray, Jr. Tax Collector, for the year 1960 levy be, and the same is hereby accepted and approved, and the said D. P. Ray, Jr., Tax Collector, together with the surety on his official bond covering the 1960 levy and the collection of delinquent taxes for the period between July 1, 1960 and June 30, 1961, be, an3 they are, subject to the provisions of law, hereby relieved of liability during said peridd. Jones Notary Public My Commission expires 11 -14- 62 Seal STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA COUNTY OF HAN ETT RESOLUTION THAT WHEREAS the county of Harnett has alien against the following described property, belonging to Mrs. Bertha Dudley, widow, of Dunn, North Carolina: Beginning at a stake in the southern margin of West Broad Street which said stake is 125 feet in an easterly direction from the intersection of the southern margin of West Broad Street and the eattern margin of South Wayne Ave. and runs in a southerly direction parallel with South Wayne Avenue a distance of 205 feet to a stake, corner; thence in an easterly direction and parallel w ith West Broad Street a distance of 60 feet to a stake, corner; thence in a northerly direction and parallel with South Wayne Avenue a distance of 205 feet to a stake in the southern margin of West Broad Street; thence in a westerly direction along the southern margin of West Broad Street a distance of 60 feet to the Beginning, and being a lot fronting on West Broad Street 60 feet with a depth of 205 feet, and WHEREAS, C. A. Roberson andwife, Pearl F. Roberson, want to trade a piece of property fully described in Book 263,. page 521, office of the Register of Deeds of Harnett County for the lands of Mrs. Bertha Dudley heretofore de- scribed in this resolution, and WHEREAS, the said two tracts of land have been appraised by three disin- terested persons, to wit, A. T. Dixon, Mickey Rouse, and Ralph Hanna of the town of Dunn who say, in their opinion, that the Bertha Dudley property is worth $4,000 and that the Roberson property is worth $8,500, and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Harnett County lien to be removed from the dudley property in order for Roberson and wife, to get a clear title, and the said Bertha Dudley is agreeable for the said lien to be transferred to the property that she is acquiring from C. A. Roberson and wife, Pearl F. Roberson. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Harnett County Board of Commissioners in session assembled this the 7th dayof August, 1961, that it is agreeable fc: the trade to be consummated between Mrs. Bertha Dudley and C. A. Roberson and wife for their respective properties, and that the lien which Harnett Cole' holds against Mrs, Bertha Dudley be transferred to the property she acquires from C. A.
