HomeMy WebLinkAbout07241961JULY 24th. 1961 The Board of Commissioners net in a call meeting Monday, July 24th., at 7:00 P. M. with Commissioner Warren, Commission Barefoot, Commissioner Byrd present. Absent were Chairman Tart, Commissioner Cameron and the County Attorney. Present ht the meeting were the Auditor and the Clerk to the Board. Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Barefoot, that the 1961 -62 Budget Resolution be adopted. Voting for was Commissioner Warren and the motion was carried. 1961 -62 Budget Resolution BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY: Section 1. There is hereby levied the following rates of tax on each one hundred dollars ($100) valuation of taxable property, as listed for taxes as of January 1, 1961, for the purpose of raising the revenue from Current Year's Property Tax, as set forth in the foregoing estimates of revenue, and in order to finance the foregoing approprtationsz General County Fund Poor Fund Health Fund County Accountant County Agricultural Agent Veterans Service Office Welfare Administration 0.A.A. Township Road Fund Levies, as follows: Johnsonville, .23 .46 .18 .33 .97 .15 .10 Such rates of tax are based on an estimated total assessed valuatinn of property for purposes of taxation as follows: County wide- valuation- $ 61,000,000.00, Special School District Valuation- 17,000,000.00, and Buses Creek Rural Fire. Department District- $ 1,700,000.00, and an estimated rate of collection of ninety per cent (90%). Section 4. There is hereby levied a poll tax of 52.00 on all male persons in the county between the ages of 21 and 50, unless exempt as provided by law, for the purpose of raising the revenue from Current Year's Poll Tax, as set forth in the foregoing estimates of revenue, and in order to finance the fore- going appropriations. In Township with the Special Road Fund levy, Poll Tax will be two dollars ($2.00) plus three times the special rates. Section 5. Copies of this resolution shall be furnished to the county treasurer and county accountant, to be kept on file by them for their direction in 'the disbursement of funds.
