The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, May 1st. at
10:00 A. M., with all members present. Also present were the County Attorney, the
Clerk to the Board and the Courity:Atditor'.

The Board granted.a refund of 812.10 taxes for years 1950-1959 to Mrs. Sadie
Baer on a lot valued at $350.00 and dropped from listing in year 1960.
The Board ordered a refund of 52.24 for Poll Tax for year 1960 to Mr. Jim L.
Parker, Dunn # 3 charged in error to Mr. Parker:'
Upon motion made by Commissioner Warren<and>seoonded by Commission Cameron, the
Board voted to award the contract for Auditing the County Records for 1961, to
Mr. John E. Ingraham C. P. A. of Dunn, N. C. Mr. Ingraham having agreed to additt
said records for the same price charged last year not to exceed $1600.00

Commissioner Cameron moved seconded by Commissioner Barefoot, that $500.00
be made available at this time to W. E. Boykin, Supervisor of the Upper Cape Fear
District. in Harnett County upon the request of W. E. Boykin, Supervisor of Soil
Conservation Service in Harnett County.
Motion carried,
Be it resolved that 1 lot in Dunn formerly listed by Jerry Covington and
acquired by Harnett Connty in August 1951 under S. D. # 2576 be sold to Will
McLean, General Delivery, Dunn, N C. for the sum of- $150.00 cash for the County's
interest and the lot to be listed for taxation to Will McLean for year 1961, The
Chairman is hereby authorized to execute a deed to Will McLean and the Clerk will
attest same.
Be it resolved that the property of 2 acres in Johnsonville Township formerly
listed to C. A. Hamilton and acquired by Harnett. County under Tax foreclosure sale
S D # 2597 be sold to Mrs. Julia R. Hamilton for the sum of $300.00. The
chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to execute a deed to Mrs. Hamilton and the
Clerk to Board will attest same.
Motion by Commissioner Byrd and seconded by Commissioner Warren that we
transfer from General Assistance Fund $1600.00 and $2600.00 from Sanitarium Dare to
be distributed as follows: $740.00 to Old Age Assistance- $770.00 to Aid To
Dependent Children and remaining $2602.00 to theA.P.T.D. Fund
Motion carried.
The'Following Resolutinn Was Adopted
WHEREAS, Dunn Meat Packers, Incorporated, Dunn, North Carolina, is a corporation
organized and existing under the laws of the State of North Carolina, with its
principal office at Dunn, North Carolina;"
AND WHEREAS, it appears that said corporation has as one of its purposes the
promoting of community agriculture and industrial development in the Harnett County
Area, and is a corporation which is entitled to approval under Chapter 78, Section
4; Sub - section 13 of the General Statutes of North Carolina entitled, "Securities Law
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED, that Dunn Meat Packers, Incorporated, be and the
same is hereby approved as being a oorporation which will promote community agricul-
ture and industrial development in the Harnett County Area.

Upon motion of Commissioner, which was seconded by Commissioner Barefoot, the
following resolution was adopted:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, it has been requested by Mr. Sam Wilson of the State Highway
Commission that the Harnett County Board of County Commissioners transfer necessary
funds from the Secondary Road Fund to the fund to be known as the Bridge Approach
Fund.and,
It appearing to theBoard of Harnett County Commissioners that this transfer
should be made,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Harnett County Board of County Commissioners
that the transfer of the funds set out above be, and the same are hereby ordered to
be transferred as of this date.
