Also present were the Clerk, the Auditor and the County Attorney. The following Reports were approved and filed: Inez Harrington D P Ray Elizabeth F. Matthews Kyle Harrington L B McLean Ray Thomas B H Sellers Resister of Deeds Tax Collector Clerk Superior Court Clerk Recorders Court Veterans Service Officer Harnett County Dog Warden Electrical Inspector The Following Road Petitions Were Approved: (1) That road in Grove Twp. which runs from Johnson and Ryals to D. E. Autry joint road by John Parker, known as Avery & Parker road, which is 4/10 miles in length. (Petition Given to Garland Avery for presentation) (2) To grade that road in Duke Twp. which runs from Highway # 421, to Old Post Road known as South 8th. Street. a distance of 1,356 feet. (given to Mr. Hudson for presentation) (3) To grade thatroad in Duke Twp. which runs from East Erwin Cut Off road to South Erwin to East C. Street known as South 12th St. a distance of 530 feet. (Petition given to Mr. Hudson for presentation) (4) so pave that road in Duke Twp, which runs from Old Post Road to edge of Erwin at N W Keen's store runs south approximately 950 feet to farm of Buddy Ivey and Mrs. Eugene Lee known as a street in Nelsonville Village a distance of 950 feet. Commissioner Warren moved, seconded by Commissioner Cameron, that H. F. Pope, Dunn, N C. be and he is hereby appointed Rural Policeman of Averasboro Twp. to begin his duties July 1st. Motion carried. Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Warren, that $1260,00 be transferred from the fund for Boarding Home ctre for adults to the fund for Public Assistance fund. Motion carried, Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Warrant that Carolina Power and LightCompan.y be given a right -of -way to place a power line on the Cornelius Harnett Boarding Home property.
