Also present were the Clerk to the Board, the County Attorney and the Auditor. The Following Reports Were Received And Approved: Inez Harrington D. P. Ray Elizabeth F. Matthews Kyle Harrington Ray Thomas L. B. McLean Roy Godwin W. H. Stewart Register of Deeds Tax Collector Clerk Superior Court Clerk Recorders Court Dog Warden Veterans Service Officer Electrical Inspector Sherriff Harnett County Continuation Certificate of Bond # 92- 532564 with Hal Williams Brown, Constable. was approved and filed with Clerk Superior Court. Upon recommendation by Berles Johnson. Tax Supervisor. it is ordered that the tax listing for Harnett County be extended through February 13th. 1960. The Following Road Petitions Were Approved: (1) To pave that road in Upper Little River .township known as SR 1244 (Petition given to D h Faircloth for presentation) (2) To pave the int8 'NN't 9 a distance of 1 mile in Averasboro 'rwp. (Petition mailed) (3) To gravel that road in Anderson Creek Township, which runs from Highway # 210 to Delma Lee Store. (Petition mailed) (4) To add to State System that road in Averasboro 'Township # 55 in Averasboro Twosnhip (Petition mailed) The Board ordered that Dallas Pope be refunded Poll Tax in Neill's Creek Township for the year 1956, for reason that he is in Service and not subject to Poll Tax. That Whereas, J. 0. West. late of Harnett County has this day passed away and whereas in his passing Harnett County has lost a faithful servant and his wife and children have lost a dutiful husband and father; Now Therefore be it resolved, that the Board off Commissioners of Harnett County express their regrets at the untimely passing of this public servant and express their sympathy to his beloved wife and sons and that a copy of this re- solution be made available to the press and to his wife and sons. Upon motion of Commissioner Warren, seconded by Commissioner Cameron, the Board ordered that a bill from J. J. Barnes, Inc. in the amount of $224.38, for unforseen work in moving vent and steam pipe and repairing radiators and setting fixtures and moving pipe in old lobby be paid. J. Hanna & Son. Inc. to make a survey of the lands owned by Harnett County. And also a survey of the lands in Harnett County which are not now on the 'lax Books. to the end that these lands owned by Harnett County, can be disposed of upon recommendation by the said C. J. Hanna & Son Inc. and with approval of the Board of Commissioners for reason that the lands would become productive and listed on the tax books. and that as a fee for doing the same the said C. J. Hanna & Son Inc. are to be paid 25 per cent of the net proceeds of the amount received for any lands sold ai a o!1 to be determined AkOMmemfor any lands placed back on the tax books.
