MAY 4th. 1959
The Board met in regular session on Monday, May 4th. at 10:00 A. M., with
all members present. Also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor and
the Clerk to Board.

The Following Road Petitions were Approved:
(1) To pull up and
Townships, which runs
miles.
(Petition given to
maintain that road in Anderson Creek And Stewart's Creek
from Buffaloe Branch to Old Wire Road a distance of 1.5
J. H. McLamb for presentation)
(2) To black top that road in Stewarts Creek Twp. which runs from Bunnlevel
Erwin Road, two miles east of Bunnlevel to Eunice Elliott Ffrris residence a
distance of 4 miles, known as Mill Creek Road
(Petition given to 'Thomas J. Byrd)
(3) To widen that Street in Duke Township which runs from North 5th.
Street east to both east "H" and "I" Streets
(Petition nailed)
(4) To pull up and maintain that road in Neill's Creek Township, known as
Hartwell Road a distance of 708 feet.
(Petition mailed)
Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Currin, that County Farm
Agent, C. R. Ammons be and he is hereby authorized to hire a laborer in the
work of testing cattle for T. B. and Bangs disease in the county.
Motion carried.
Commissioner Camer moved, seconded by Commissioner Byrd and Radio Antenna
from Courthouse roof be moved to water tank in Town of Lillington at a cost
of $175.00. Motion carried.
Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Cameron that truck for
sale at auction be bought by the Sheriff's Department and the Sheriff be
responsible for driving and upkeep of truck. Motion carried.
Commissioner Byrd moved, seem ded by Commissioner Cameron that the truck that
is to be sold at Auction by the Countyor Sheriff's Department;
That the Sheriff be authorized to get a bidder and buy said truck if in the
opinion of the Sheriff i-a will be advantageous for theCounty to do so and that t
the Sherriff's Department assume responsibility for the driving and upkeep
of same in the event it is purchased. Motion carried.
