Pursuant to the adjournment of the Board of Commissioners on February 27,
1959, they again met in a special session on Monday, March 23, 1959 in order to
receive and open bids for the plumbing, heating, electrical and air conditioning
of the new courthouse and the following bids were submitted:

After all bids had been opened, upon the motion of Worth Byrd and seconded
by W. B. Warren, the Board voted unanimously to award the contract for construction
to the Hunt Construction Company of Durham, N. C., Plumbing to J. J. Barnes, Inc.,
Electrical work to the Barton Electrical Co. all of whom submitted the lowest bids
in their respective fields. It was noted, however, upm inspection of the bids for
aid conditioning, that only 2 bids were submitted and being advised by the County
Attorney that a minimum number of 3 bids would have to be submitted in order to
award the contract for air conditioning. The architec t3 re k B. Simpson, was
again authorized to re- advertise for the air conditiog of a� building and to
meet with the Board at its regular meeting on Monday, Ap it 6, 1959, at 2o'clock
p. m. for the purpose of opening the new bids for aid conditioning and completing
the awarding of this contract.
