HomeMy WebLinkAbout07221957591 July 22nd. 1957 The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Monday July 22, 1957, with all members present. Written request of J. C. Currie, heirs,for a refund of 1955 -1956 taxes on tract of land in Johnsonville Township, was presented and considered. Said claim was based on a double listing. Upon motion of Commissioner Cameron, seconded by Commissioner Pleasant, theBoard voted unanimously to allow said refund, because of said double listing, and ordered the Auditor to issue check covering said refund. 1957-58 Budget Resolution BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY: SECTION 1. Section 4. There is hereby levied a poll tax of $2.00 on all male persons in the county between the ages of 21 and 50, unless exempt as provided by law, for the purpose of raising the revenue from Current Year's Poll Tax, as set forth in the foregoing estimates of renenue, and in order to finance the fore- going appropriations. In Townships with the Special Road Fund Levy, Poll Tax will be two dollars ($2.00) plus three times the special rates. Section 5. Copies of this resolution shall be furnished to the county treasurer and county accountant, to be kept on file by them for their direction in the disbursement of funds.
