NOVEMBER 8th. 1965.
The Board of Commissioners met in a call session with all members present.
Also present with the Board were County Attorney, the Auditor and the Clerk to
the Board.
Chairman Brock called the meeting to order and Commissioner Womble opened
the meeting with prayer.
A group of citizens represented by Dr. Bruce Blackmon, Haywood Hall of Angier,
with M. 0. Lee, Attorney as spokesman, interested in a Countylospital appeared
before the Board- and discussed the advantages.
A group of citizens from Dunn representing the Dunn Hospital with James
Johnson, Attorney as spokesman, - appeared and presented the plan of the Dunn
Hospital in this group was Myres Tilghman, Everette Doffermyre and R. E.
Marshburn, Mayor.
The Board of Commissioners heard both sides in the discussion.
Commissioner Womble moved, seconded by Commissioner Cotton, made the following
motion:
1. That this body institute a suit against the proper body, agency, or
commission, to prevent it from allocating hospital building funds that would
be charged against Harnett County as a whole.
2. That this body request the Hospital Administration to make a survey of
Harnett County as to its needs for a county Hospital.

3. That hospitalibond issue be submitted to the citizens of Harnett County.
Voting for: Commissioner Womble, Commissioner Cotton, and Commissioner
O1Quinn
Voting against: Commissioner Mixon
