The Chairman called the meeting to o of Holly Springs Baptist Church, offere SEPTEMBER 9th. 1965 gular session on Thursday, September 9th. Also present were the Auditor and the the County Attorney, Archie Taylor served rder and Rev. Sam 0. Stevenson, Pastor d the invocation. The Following Reports Were Approved: Inez Harrington Kyle Harrington Elizabeth F. Matthews Jean Maness B H Sellers L. Perry Cameron W. Earl Jones Register of Deeds Clerk Recorders Court Clerk Superior Court Veterans Service Officer County Electrical Inspector County Electrical Inspector Tax Collector A delegation from Upper Little River community appeared before the Board with Rev.. Sam 0. Stevenson as spokesman for the group with request for Law enforcement officer in that section. The request was considered. The Bdard ordered that $12.4.2 be refunded to A. A. McCormick heirs in Barbecue Township for the year 196L1., for reason of error in true valuation of taxable value $1080.00. C. R. Ammons appeared before the Board with a request for $150.00 to be used for a display at the State Fair in October. This amount will be refunded to County. Commissioner Mixon moved, seconded by Commissioner Womble, appropriate $150.00 for the County Display at the State Fair. The Board granted Palmistry License to Ruby Laura Miller, this date, ending June lat. 1966. Victor H. Denton, Planning Director, and George Monaghan, Division Administrator, Central Area Office, Division of Community Planning, Department of Conservation and Development of North Carolina, appeared before the Board and explained the advantages of a zoning ordinance in the county. The Board considered and further meetings will be planned. The Following Road Petitions Were Approved: (1) To improve or balok top that road # 1269 in Upper Little River Township a distance of 1 mile. Petition mailed to Harvey O'Quinn (2) To improve or black top that road #1125 in Anderson Creek Township a distance of 5 miles. Petition mailed to State Office. (3) To add to State System that road in Buies Creek known as McCall Street a distance of 13/100 miles. Petition mailed to State Office. that the County Mot ion carrie d. Dunn Rt. LF on Colonel David Alexander, Director of Harnett Agri - Business Committee, appeared before the Board and discussed the possibility of water and sewer for the incoming industry into the county and reported that future plans for the promotion of industry and that sites will be considered and maps made of the sites. He also stated that Brochure had been completes and copies would be ready for distribution. Commissioner OtQuinn moved, seconded by Commissioner Womble, that Mr. Hubbard, Director of Public Welfare, be allowed to hire a typist I for the Welfare Department. Motion carried Commissioner OtQuinn moved, seconded by Commissioner Womble, that Mr. Hubbard be allowed to hire a typist II for the Welfare Department. Motion carried Commissioner Womble moved, seconded by Commissioner Cotton, that surplus food be issued to families with one or more children that are hardship cases and meet be test for substandard income under the budget analysis set up by the Welfare Department. Motion carried Mr. Proffit and Mr. Gray of the Board of Education appeared before the Board and discussed the school attendance in the county. W.
