JUNE 29th. 1965
The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Tuesday, June 29th. at 7 :30 p.m.
with all members present. Also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor and
the Clerk to the Board.
Mr. Brock, Chairman, called the meeting to order.
Budgets of the various offices were studied.
Commissioner Cotton moved, seconded by Commissioner OtQuinn, that W. Earl
Jones, Tax Collector, be instructed by Commissioner Brock, Chairman of the
Board, to proceed immediately to use every available means at his command to
collect the delinquent taxes, and to make ans:oral report on the collections at
each regular meeting of the Board.
Motion carried.
Commissioner Mixon moved, seconded by Commissioner O'Quinn, that the tax
J rate for the county of Harnett be fixed at $1.19 for the year 1965..
Voting in favor of the Motion were Commissioner Mixon, Commissioner O'Quinn
Commissioner Cotton, Commissioner Womble and Commissioner Brock.
4 The Bmard will meet July 6th. for the regular monthly meeting.
The 1965 -66 Budget Resolution was placed on file in the Register of Deeds
4 office for a period of 20 days. The Board will meet on Thursday, July 22nd.
at 9 :00 A.M. for the adoption of the Budget

INTERIM APPROPRIATION RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY:
Section 1. That in order to operate the county and its
subdivisions from July 1, 1965, to the date of the adoption of the
1965 -66 Budget Resolution, appropriations are hereby made for
the purpose of paying salaries, the principal and interest on
indebtedness, and the usual or]inary expenses of the county and
its subdivisions at th same rate of expenditure as provided for in
the budget for the 1961 -65 fiscal year. This resolution shall
cease to be effective from and after the adoption of the 1965 -66
Budget Resolution, and all expenditures made in accordance with
this resolution shall be chargeable to appropriations made An the
1965 -66 Budget Resolution.
Adopted this the 1st. day, of July, 1965.
