June 14th. 1965
The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Monday, June lt}th.
with all members present also present were the County Auditor, the County
Attorney and the Clerk to the Board.
Sealed bids for Rural Police cars were opened and studied and after
discussion a motion was made by Commissioner Cotton, seconded by Commissioner
01Quinn, that this matter be postponed and ancall for more bids be made at a
later date
Motion carried.
Commissioner Mixon moved, seconded by Commissioner O'Quinn, that the following
resolution be and the same is hereby adopted.
WHEREAS the Erwin Cotton Mills, Inc. conveyed to the County of
Harnett a certain tract of land in Duke Township known as the Erwin
Teaoherage with the understanding that in the event the property ceased
to be used for educational purposes the same should revert to the Erwin Cotton
Mills, Inc. and;
WHEREAS, The Board of Education has declared the property n,o longer
needed for educational purposes and requested tb= Board of Commissioners to
convey the property to Erwin Cotton Mills, Inc. and;
WHEREAS the General Assembly has enacted a bill directing the Board of
Commissioners and the Board of Education to convey the said property to
Erwin Cotton Mills, Inc. and;
Now, Therefore be it resolved that tbs Chairman to the Board of
Commissioners is hereby authorized to execute such deed as may be required
to effect a transfer of the title to the Erwin Teaoherage property to Erwin
Cotton Mills, Inc. and the Clerk to the Board des authorized to attest the
same and affix the common seal of the county to the deed.
The Board of Commissioners affixed the salary of Louvenia McLean, cook
at the County jail, at $35.00 per week.
Commissioner Cotton moved, seconded by Commissioner Mixon, that all call
meetings of the Board of Commissioners be held at 9:00 a.m. or at 7 :30 p.m.
and the regular First Monday meetings be held at 9:00 a.m.
Motion carried
The Board ordered that the County Offices be closed on July 5th. for the
Holiday.
Commissioner Mixon moved, seconded by Commissioner Cotton, that Dr.
Eyerman , Director of Health Department, be directed to develope a suggested
mDsquito control program for Harnett County and to investigate if funds are
available from the State or Federal funds because of the Promimity to Fort
Bragg and report his findings to the Board of Commissioners at an early date.

7:30 p.m., with all members present except Commissioner Mixon who was absent.
