HomeMy WebLinkAbout08071964241 AUGUST 7th. 1964 The Board of Commissioners of Harnett County with all members present met on Friday, August 7th. at 7:30 P. M. Also present with the Board were the County Attorney and the Auditor. The Clerk to the Board was absent. Alex Cameron, Chairman, presided and stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss proposal of the Harnett Agri - Business Development Committee and to name additional members to the committee. The following were named from the District of the county to serve and be known as Harnett Agri- Business Development Commission District # 1: George F. Blalock, Mayor, Dunn, N. C. Paul Perry, President Chamber of Commerce, Dunn, N . C. Guyton Smith, Dunn, N. C. District # 2: H. Douglas Moore, Erwin, N. C. # 1 Box 130 Carson Gregory, Angier, N. C. Thomas Godfrey Beasley, Coats, N. C. District # 3: D. W. Denning, Jr. member Chamber of Commerce, Angier, N. C. Jack Marley, Mayor, Angier, N. C. Larry Barnes, President, Chamber of Commerce, Angier, N. C. District # 4: J. A. Senter, Mayor, Lillington, N. C. Joe Norwood, President, Chamber of Commerce, Lillington, N. C. Melvin Turlington, Lillington, N. C. District # 5: Therman F. Nance, Sanford, N. C. # 6 Lloyd Stewart, Lillington, N. C. #3 Commissioner Barefoot moved, seconded by Commissioner Brock, that the county underwrite the polio vacine program to the extent of the cost of the vacine and that the Medical Society of Harnett County consider a free will offering of°as each service.
