June 29th. 1964
The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Monday, June 29th.
at 7:30 P.M.
Alex Cameron, Chairman, presided and called the meeting to order.
Commissioners Byrd, Barefoot and Brook were present. Commissioner Byerly
was absent. Also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor an9 the Clerk
to the Board.
Robert Stewart, Director of Public Welfare in Harnett County appeared be-
fore the Board and presented welfare budget for the year 1964 -65.
C. R. Ammons and Mrs. Ruby Parker of the Agriculture Extention Department
with Mrs. Swicegood of the State office appeared and introduced Mrs. Betty
E. Giles of Dunn and advised that she be appointed as Assistant Home Demonstra-
tion agent.
Commissioner Barefoot moved seconded by Commissioner Byrd that Mrs.
Betty E. Oiles be and she is hereby appointed Assistant Home Demonstration
agent at a salary of $159.64 as the county's part and to begin her duties on
July 1st. 1964.
Motion carried.
The Board studied the Budgets as presented by the various officers of the
County.
The Board adjourned.
