L. Campbell, one of the commissioners; the Town of Dunn and the Town of Coats made no appearance; and WHEREAS, after the matters were discussed with relation to the total value of the property in Harnett County, reflected in a preliminary survey, Mayor Senter recommended that a ratio lower than sixty (60) per cent be used and Mr. Campbell recommended that a rate no lower than 60 per cent be used, and the Board was of the opinion, considering the financial structure of the County and the various municipalities, the property should be assessed on a 60 per cent ratio of its true value: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY That the tentative sixty (60) per cent ratio be adopted and that both real and personal property be assessed for taxation in Harnett County at sixty (60) per cent of its true value. 218 Commissioner Byerly moved the adoption of the foregoing resolution and was seconded by Commissioner Brock, the resolution unanimously adopted. Commissioner Brock moved, seconded by Commissioner Byrd that the tax rate for the County of Harnett for the year 1964 be fixed at $1.15. Those voting in favor of the motion -- Commissioners Cameron, Byerly, Brock, Byrd and Barefoot. The Board recessed to reconvene on Monday, June 29th.., at 7:00 P. M. Chairman Clerk to Board
