The Board of Commissioners met in regular sessionon Tuesday, September,
3rd. 1963. with L A Tart, Chairman, Worth Lee Byrd, A. C. Barefoot, and Alex
Cameron present. Also present were the County Attorney the Auditor and the
Clerk to the :Board.
The Following Reports Were Approved and Filed:

John E. Ingraham, Certified Public Accountant, appeared before the Board
and presented the report of the examination of the County Accounts for the
year ending June 30th. 1963. ,
Continuation Certificate for Bond # 048 2561, 021862 on behalf of John H.
McDonald as Constable in Duke Twp. was approved.

The Board ordered that Edward W. McCullough of Buie's Creek be released
of Poll Tax for 1 year on account of being a disabled Veteran.
The following Road Petitions were approved:
(1) To add to the State Maintained secondary road system that road in
Upper Little River a distance of 12 miles.
(Petition mailed)
(2) To add to the State System that road in Averasboro Twp. known as
Memorial Street a distance of 1 /10 miles.
(Petition mailed)
The Board approved the appointment of A. W. O'Quinn as night office Deputy
at a salary of $ 150.00 per month, effective August 1st. 1963, and the Budget
of Sheriff's office is hereby amended to increase the said appropriation by
$ 1650.00 for year 1963 -64.
The Board appointed Alex M. Cameron, to the Welfare Board to fill the
unexpired term of W. A. Warren.
