HomeMy WebLinkAbout09031963SEPTEMBER 3rd. 1963 The Board of Commissioners met in regular sessionon Tuesday, September, 3rd. 1963. with L A Tart, Chairman, Worth Lee Byrd, A. C. Barefoot, and Alex Cameron present. Also present were the County Attorney the Auditor and the Clerk to the :Board. The Following Reports Were Approved and Filed: Register of Deeds Clerk Superior Court Clerk Recorders Court Tax Collector Veterans Service Office Dog Warden Inez Harrington Elizabeth Matthews Kyle Harrington D P Ray, Jr. Jean Maness Ken Black John E. Ingraham, Certified Public Accountant, appeared before the Board and presented the report of the examination of the County Accounts for the year ending June 30th. 1963. , Continuation Certificate for Bond # 048 2561, 021862 on behalf of John H. McDonald as Constable in Duke Twp. was approved. (certificate filed with Clerk Superior Court) The Board ordered that Edward W. McCullough of Buie's Creek be released of Poll Tax for 1 year on account of being a disabled Veteran. The following Road Petitions were approved: (1) To add to the State Maintained secondary road system that road in Upper Little River a distance of 12 miles. (Petition mailed) (2) To add to the State System that road in Averasboro Twp. known as Memorial Street a distance of 1 /10 miles. (Petition mailed) The Board approved the appointment of A. W. O'Quinn as night office Deputy at a salary of $ 150.00 per month, effective August 1st. 1963, and the Budget of Sheriff's office is hereby amended to increase the said appropriation by $ 1650.00 for year 1963 -64. The Board appointed Alex M. Cameron, to the Welfare Board to fill the unexpired term of W. A. Warren. The following jurors were drawn for Civil Term of Superior Court beginning October 7th. 1963. 1.
