MINUTES OF BOARD OF EQUALIZATION & REVIEW FOR YEAR 1963
The County Board of Commissioners convened and sat as a County Board of
Equalization and Review for their first meeting of 1963 on Monday March
18, 1963. at 10:00 A. M. in the courthouse at Lillington, N. C. All Comm-
issioners except Mr. Alex Cameron and County Attorney were present. The
meeting was called to order by Chairman, L. A. Tart. Before entering upon
their duties all members of the Board present subscribed to the following oath
and filed with the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners.
"I, do solemnly swear that I will
faithfull$ discharge my duties as a member of the Board of Equalization and
Review of Harnett County, North Carolina and that I will not allow my actions
as a member of said Board to be influenced by a personal political friendship•
or obligation.
March 18, 1963
The following kownships were given an opportunity to come in before the
Equalization Board and be heard: Only taxpayers who had their real estate
values effected or disturbed as much as $100, during the year 1962 were entitled
to appear before the Equalization Board: Averasboro, Buckhorn and Duke;
No one appeared before the Board. The Equalization Board recessed after
ample time was given for taxpayers whose values had been disturbed to appear
before the Board.
April 8, 1963
The County Board of Commissioners convened as a Board of Equalization and
Review for their second meeting for 1963. All Commissioners were present.
Mr. Alex Cameron subscribed to the above oath since he was not present for the
first meeting. The following townships were given the priviledge of appearing
before the Equalization Board: Anderson Creek, Grove, Hector's Creek, Johnsonville,
Neil's Creek and Upper Little River.
No one appeared before the Board. The Equalization Board recessed after
ample time was given for taxpayers whose values had been disturbed to appear
before the Board.
April 29, 1963
The County Board of Commissioners convened as a Board of Equalization
and Review for their third and final meeting for 1963. All Commissioners
were present. The following townships were given the priviledge of appearing
before the Equalization Board: Barbecue, Black River, Lillington, and
Stewart's Creek.
No one appeared before the Board, The Equalization Board adjourned
after ample time was given for taxpayers whose 'ea ],�}es had biz disturbed
to appear before the Board.
