The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, November, 5th.
withall members present. Also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor, and
the Clerk to the Board.

That J. Stanley Byrd of Bunnlevel, State of North Carolina,(hereinafter
called the Principal) and the St Paul Fire And Marine Insurance Company, (hereinafter
called the Surety)a corporation organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of
Minnesota, with its principal office inthe City of St. Paul and the State of Minn-
esota are held and firmly bound unto Harnett County Board of Commissioners,
Lillington, North Carolina, (hereinafter called the Obligee) in the sum of
One Thousand and no /100 Dollars ($1.000.00)
for the payment whereof to the Obligee the Principal binds himself. his heirs,
executors. administrators and assigns. and the Surety binds itself. its success-
ors and assigns. iointly and severally, firmly by these presents.

This Bond is executed by the Surety upm the following express condition,which
shal be conditions precedent to the right of recovery hereunder:
First: That the Surety may, if it shall so elect, cancel this Bpnd by giving
thirty (30) days, notice in writing to Harnett County Board of Commissioners,
Lillington, N C. and this bond shall be deemed canceled at the expiration of
said thirty (30) days. the Surety remaining liable, however, subject to all the
terms, conditim s and provisions of this Bond, for any act cr acts covered by this
Bond which may have been committed by the Principal up to the date cg' such cancel -
ation.end the Surety shall, upon surrender of this Bond and its release from all
liability hereinunder. refund the premium paid, less a pro rate part thereof for tb
time this Bond shallhave been in force.
Second: That the Surety shall not be liable hereunder for the loss of any
public moneys. or funds occuring through or resulting from failure of, or default
in oayment by. any banks or deoositories in which any public moneys. or funds have
been deoosited. or may be deposited by or placed to the credit. or under control
of the Principal whether or not such banks or depositories were or may be selected
or designated by the Princioal or by other persons or by reason of the allowance
to or acceptance by the Principal of any interest on said oublic moneys or funds,
any law dectsion ordinance or statute to the contrary notwithstanding

Duke Township.
Motion made by Commissioner Warren and seconded by Commissioner Byrd, that
Thomas Allen be given permission to attend the met ing of the State Board of
Assessments. Motion carried,
The following road Petitions were approved:
(1) To add to the State System the road in Johnsonville Township which
leads from Highway 27 near the Bailey Hall farm and near Morris Store a
distance of 5 miles (Petiton mailed)
(2) To add to the sustem that road in Upper Little River which is
2/10 miles known as road which leads from road to home of Alice and Lottie
Patterson
(Petibton mailed)
(3) To add to the system that road known as Molie Cotton Road, a distance
of 6/10 miles in Hector's Creek Twp.
Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Cameron, that a committee
be appointed to study the problem of purchasing cars for the Sheriffs office
Motion carried.
The Board appointed Commissioner Byed and Commissioner Cameron to study the
problem and set a date for a meeting of the Board.
Commissioner Byrd moved seconded by Commissioner Warren that the County
Offices be closed November 22 and November 23 for the Thanksgiving Holiday;
Motion carried.
