Morgan be appointed as a member of Buies Creek volunteer Fire Department in lieu of Mr. J. T. Vail who was automatically dropped as a member cf said Department for non - attendance of meetings. Motion carried. The Board granted premission to the Lillington Ministerial Association set up a live Christmas Tableau on the Courthouse lawn December 17 -23. 0 15 At the meetttlg of the Board of Commissioners on Monday. October 1st. 1962. it was unanimously voted to award a contract to Mr. Otis E. Harvell for the re- valuation of theproperty in Harnett County upon his presenting to the Board a good and sufficient Bond inthe amount of $5000.00 for the good and faithful performance of the contract. THIS CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT, made and entered into this the 15 day of October. 1 °62. by and between the County of Harnett. a political subdivision of the State of North Carolina. hereinafter referred to as "County ". party of the first part and Otis E. Harvell of Montgomery Canty. North Carolina. party of the second part. WTTNESSETH: WHEREAS. the County desires to employ the party of the second part. to furnish his services and qualified experienced appraisers to advise with, aid and assist the County Supervisor of Taxation and the list takers and assessors in the respective townships in Harnett County In the appraisal and revaluation of all tax- able property situated tnthe County according to the specifications as hereinafter set forth; and to advise with and assist the Harnett County Board of Equalization and Review in arriving at the true value in money of all taxable property In the County; and WHEREAS. the said party of the second part is willing .. to accept said professional employment and to render said services to the County upon the following terms and conditions to -wit: the said party of the second pabt shall receive the sum of Six Hundred ($600.91) Dollars per month for his services plus the sum of One Hundred Fifty (150.00) Dollars per month for traveling expenses and he is per- mitted to employ and bring with him two reliable. competent and experienced workers to be paid the sums of Five Hundred ($500.00) and Four Hundred Fifty ($450.00) Dollars respectively and further he is permitted to employ as many as eight other employees at salaries to be agreed upon by the parties of the first and second part hereto. and this entire contract is being awarded upon the contt ent condition that the said party or the second part shall furnish a Food and sufficient performance bond in the sumof Five Thoisand ($5.000.00) Dollars to indemnify the County of Harnett up to that amount should he fail to fulfill this contract. NOW, THEREFORE. it is agreed that the said party of the second part shall cause to be made under the supervision of the Harnett County Tax Supervisor an appraisal and revaluation in accordance with the following specifications aid conditions to -wit: a copy of which is hereto attached and made a part of this contract.
