The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, September 4th,
at 10:00 A. M., with all members present. Also present were the County Attorney,
the Auditor and the Clerk to the Board.

Harnett County Board of Commissioners in the
penalty of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00)
to the payment whereof. well and truly to be made and done, the said Principal
and Surety bind themselves. their heirs, executors, administrators. successors
and assigns. jointly and severally. firmly by these presents;

THE CONDITION OF THE AFOREGOING OBLIGATION IS SUCH, THAT WHEREAS. the said

for the term beginning August 10, 1962, and ending August 10. 1963.
NOW, THEREFORE, if the said Principal shall well and faithfully perform,
according to law, all and singular the duties incumbent upon him by reason of
his election or appointment to the said office. then this obligation shall be null
and void; otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.

Motion made by Commissioner Byrd, seconded by Commissioner Cameron, that the
resignation of Tommy Sansom be accepted and thttt upon the recommendation of
Carl Lucas, Director of Civil Defense, that Frank Lewis is appointed as
Assistant Civil Defense Director for Harnett County.

won for him a place of honor second to none in North Carolina,
NOW THEREFORE, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners in
regular meeting assembled and in recognition of his excellent achievements has
voted him to be a man of distinction in North Carolina,
