C. with the following present: Lonnie Small, Berles Johnson and Robert Browning, all of Campbell College. The purpose of this meeting was to formally open bids for the Buies Creek Sewage Treatment Facility. Mr. Robert Browning, Engineer, opened the bids at 2:05 P. M. and they are as follows: Brown Constr. Co. Concord, N. C. License No. 3596 Bid Amount $ 228,600.00 Central Builders, Inc. Rocky Mount, N.C. 3680 244,444.00 Consolidated Constr. Co. Fayetteville, N. C. 2219 253,000.00 Crain & Denbo, Inc. Durham, N. C. 1595 237,850.00 T. A. Loving Co. Goldsboro, N. C. 325 Carl B. Mims, Contr. Raleigh, N. C. 252,870.00 4355 317,400.00 Mr. Lonnie Small, speaking in behalf of the Chairman, M. H. Brock who could not attend, expressed appreciation to those attending the opening of the bids. The official awarding of the bid will be done at a later date. Meeting adjourned at 2:20 P. M. /ln n 9 QO Meeting of June 16, 1971, Commissioners Room, Courthouse, Lillington, N. C. The Chairman of the Board, called a special meeting of the Commissioners on June 16, 1971 in the Commissioners Room, Courthouse, Lillington, N. C. Those present were as follows: Chairman M. H. Brock, Vice Chairmah D. P. Ray, Jr. C. E. McLamb, W. J. Cotton, Jr. and Gilbert Brown. Also present was Attorney W. A. Johnson and Lonnie Small of Camp bell College. The meeting was called to order at 11:00 A. M. and the following res- olution was introduced to the Board: WHEREAS, the bids submitted for the construction of the sewage treatment facility at Buie's Creek, North Carolina, Project No. WPC -NC -280, were received and opened at 2:00 P. M. on June 15, 1971, in accordance with the terms and provisions of the notice to bidders published as by law required; and WHEREAS, Brown Construction Company of Conco4 North Carolina, submitted thelow bid in the amount of Two Hundred Twenty -Eight Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($228,600.), which bid was submitted in accordance with all of the conditions and requirements set forth in the notice to bidders; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County that the contract for the construction of said sewage treatment facility should be awarded to Brown Construction Company; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that this Board hereby states and expresses its intention to award the contract for the construction of said sewage treatment facility at Buie's Creek, North Carolina, Project No. WPC -NC -280, to Brown Construction Company of Concor, North Carolina, at and for the lump sum contract price of Two Hundred Twenty -Eight Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($228,600.000), subject to the availability of funds and to the approval of said contract by all governmental authorities and agencies whose approval is required before said contract can be finally awarded. Upon motion of Commissioner Cotton, seconded by Commissioner Ray, the foregoing resolution was adopted by unanimous vote. I, Herbert D. Carson, Jr., do hereby certify that I am the duly elected, qualified Clerk to the Harnett County Board of Commissioners; and I do further certify that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of a resolution adopted by a meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the County of Harnett held on June 1 1971, the original of which resolution is incorporated in and constitutes a par of the official minutes of said meeting.
