The Board of County Commissioners met in special session on
Thursday, March 5, 1970 at 11:00 a.m. in the commissioners' room,
Courthouse, Lilington, North Carolina. Those present were: Messrs. [
M. H. Brock, Chairman; D. P. Ray, Jr., Vice Chairman; C. E. McLamb,
member; W. J. Cotton, Jr., member and Gilbert Brown, member. Also
present: Messrs. H. D. Carson, Jr., Clerk to the Board and Gerald
Arnold, County Attorney.
CALL TO ORDER Chairman Brock called the special session of the recessed meeting
of March 3, 1970 to order at 11:00 a.m.
BUSINESS
ADJOURNMENT
ATTEST:
The Board net to consider a change in compensation of county '
commissioners. After due consideration and deliberation, the following
action was taken:
Commissioner Cotton moved, seconded by Commissioner McLamb,
"Resolved, That the Harnett County Board of Commissioners be
compensated as folows: Each commissioner shall receive the sum
of $80 per month, and the chairman shall receive the sum of $105
per month, and in addition, each commissioner shall receive the sum
of $20 for each special meeting."
Voting For: Commissioners, Cotton, McLamb, Brown
Voting Against: Commissioner Ray
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at
12:30 p.m.
