BROCK, CHAIRMAN, COMMISSIONERS W. J. COTTON, JR., J. E. WOMBLE, GILBERT BROWN, C. E. MCLAMB, H. D. CARSON, JR., COUNTY AUDITOR AND CLERK OF THE BOARD, COL. DAVID ALEXANDER, AGRI - BUSINESS DIRECTOR. THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY CHAIRMAN BROCK, WHO PRESIDED. THE FOLLOWING BUSINESS WAS TRANSACTED: ITEM. 1. A MOTION BY MR. W. J. COTTON, JR. AND SECONDED BY MR. J. E. WOMBLE, THAT THE BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 1968 -69 BE TENTATIVELY APPROVED PROVIDED THAT $60,000.00 BE SET ASIDE FROM DELINQUENT TAXES FOR A SCHOOL SITE AND $6,000.00 BE SET UP FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE. VOTING FOR MR. COTTON AND MR. WOMBLE AND VOTING AGAINST: CHAIRMAN BROCK, COMMISSIONERS BROWN AND MCLAMB. ITEM 2. A MOTION WAS MADE BY MR. W. J. COTTON, JR. AND SECONDED BY MR. WOMBLE AND MR. BROWN, THAT THE BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 1968 -69 BE TENTATIVELY APPROVED WITH A TAX LEVY OF $1.23. MOTION CARRIED. A COPY OF THE 1968 -69 BUDGET RESOLUTION WAS PLACED ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE REGISTER OF DEEDS FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION FOR A PERIOD OF TWENTY DAYS. ITEM 3. MR. ROBERT C. BRYAN, ATTORNEY, APPEARED BEFORE THE BOARD IN REGARDS TO THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE IN BEHALF OF WHITTENTON AMBULANCE SERVICE. AT THE CONCLUSION OF MR. BRYAN'S REMARKS A MOTION WAS MADE BY MR. GILBERT BROWN, SECONDED BY MR. C. E. MCLAMB, TO REQUEST THE PLANNING BOARD TO MAKE A SURVEY OF THE AMBULANCE NEEDS OF THIS COUNTY AND REPORT BACK TO THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS THEIR FINDINGS. MOTION CARRIED.
