HomeMy WebLinkAbout08101973'AIR CONDITION UNITS FOR SHELTERED WORKSHOP Commissioner Cotton made a motion that 4 air conditioner units be purchased for use at the Harnett County Workshop building, for an amount not to exceed $1,100.00. Mr. Hampton had informed him of the great need of these units. Commissioner McLamb seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. ADJOURN The meeting adjourned at 11:37 a.m. Secret 21770 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS The Board was called for special session on Friday, August 10, 1973. The meeting convened at 2:30 p.m. with Commissioners Brock, McLamb, Brown and Cotton in attendance. The matter of the request from James Goff recorded in the minutes of the regular meet- ing was brought again to the attention of the Board for action. Commissioner Cotton made a motion that approved the request from Mr. Goff, Commissioner Brown seconded the motion and the matter passed favorably. The Commissioners then moved to the Superior Courtroom to open the bids for the const- ruction of the new County Building. Mr. Brown was unable to attend the bid opening. The Chairman called the meeting to order and expressed appreciation to those in attend- ance and to those submitting bids. He informed the bids that the Board of Commiss- ioners reserved the right to reject any or all bids. Then the opening of the bids was turned over to the County Attorney and to LBC & W representative. ACTION: Commissioner Cotton made a motion that the Board accept the low bidder on the General bidding along with Alternates 1,2,3 & 4, and the low bidder in the other three categories - plumbing, mechanical and electrical - Commissioner McLamb seconded the motion and the issue passed.
