CALL TO ORDER
NORTHERN HARNETT
RESCUE SERVICE
SECOND SUPPLEMENT
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session
on Wednesday, May 7, 1980, in the Commissioners Room, County
Office Building, Lillington, North Carolina, with the following
members present: Lloyd G. Stewart, M. H. Brock, Bill Shaw,
Rudy Collins, and Chairman Jesse Alphin presiding. Edward H.
McCormick, County Attorney, and H. D. Carson, Jr., Clerk to the
Board,were also present.
Chairman Jesse Alphin called the meeting to order at 11 a.m. and
explained that the purpose of this meeting was to consider the
Second Supplemental Report on the Northern Harnett Rescue Servic
District.
Tom Lanier, Director of Emergency Management, appeared before
the Board and presented the following resolution calling for a
public hearing on the second supplemental report to the Board
of Commissioners for consideration:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLIC HEARING ON REDEFINING BOUNDARIES OF NORTHERN
HARNETT RESCUE SERVICE DISTRICT
RESOLVED that the Second Supplemental report on Northern Harnett Rescue
Service District be filed with the Clerk to the Board this date and
that a public hearing be and the same is hereby set for June 16, 1980, at
8:00 O'Clock p.m. at the County Office Building on First and Front Streets
in the Town of Lillington, North Carolina; and that notice of said hearing
be sent to each owner of property in the proposed district as modified and
as shown by the County tax records as of January 1, 1979, at least four
(4) weeks prior to the hearing by the tax supervisor Tom Allen; that notice
of the hearing be published in the Harnett County News at least once not less
than one week prior to the hearing; further that the Clerk to the Board obtai
an Affidavit of Publication from the editor of the Harnett County News and
that Tom Allen certify to the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett
County on or before said hearing that this mailing to owners of property
in said district has been completed.
The form of said Notice shall be as follows:

BUCKHORN WHO ARE WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF A PROPOSED NORTHERN HARNETT
RESCUE SERVICE DISTRICT.
TAKE NOTICE that a hearing will be held on the 16th day of June,
1980, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. at the County Office Building on First and
Front Streets in the Town of Lillington, North Carolina, for the purpose
of hearing matters relevant to redefining of the boundaries of an ambulance
and rescue service district.
A map of the proposed district as modified is attached or appended
to this Notice.
The boundaries of the proposed Northern Harnett Rescue Service District
encompasses the entire Township of Buckhorn and all of Hector's Creek
except for a small area near the southern boundary of the township.
A report entitled "Second Supplemental Report: Northern Harnett
Rescue Service District" was filed with the Board of Commissioners of
Harnett County, on the 7th day of May, 1980, and is available for public
inspection at the Office of the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners.
Also on file is the original and First Supplemental Report.
dOh motion of Commissioner Collins, seconded by Commissioner
Shaw, the foregoing resolution passed upon the following vote:
Ayes 5 ; Noes 0 ;Abstained 0 ; Absent 0
ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the Harnett County Board of
Commissioners meeting of May 7 duly adjourned at 11:40 a.m.
