RESOLUTION RE:
FEASIBILITY STUDY
FOR ANDERSON CREEK
AREA - -WATER AND
WASTEWATER
ADJOURNMENT
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in a special session on
May 4, 1978, at 12 noon, in the County Administration Building,
Lillington, North Carolina, for the purpose of considering a water
and wastewater system for the 'Anderson Creek — Johnsonville area.
Chairman Jesse Alphin called the meeting to order at 12 noon. Com-
missioners presentwwere: W. J. Cotton, Jr., Lloyd Stewart, Bill
Shaw, M. H. Brock, and Chairman Alphin. Absent: none. H. D. Carson,
Jr., Clerk to the Board, was also present.
Commissioner Brock presented the following resolutions for the Board's considera-
tion:
WHEREAS, the County of Harnett desires to study the feasibility of providing
water service in the Anderson Creek - Johnsonville area of the County; and
WHEREAS it appears necessary to develop a plan which could include portions
of Cumberland County and the Town of Spring Lake, federal and state agencies, and
the need exists to bring all these interests together for a "meeting of minds."
THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, that
M. H. "Jack " Brock, County Manager, is directed and hereby authorized to meet
with the interested parties and the County Engineer, Moore, Gardner $ Associates,
Inc., to work out a plan of action in securing federal and state grant funds for
developing the necessary feasibility studies.
DONE THIS 4TH DAY OF MAY, 1978.
Upon motion of Commissioner Cotton, seconded by Commissioner Shaw, tl-
foregoing resolution was passed by the following vote:
Ayes: Cotton, Stewart, Brock, Shaw, and Alphin
Noes: None
WHEREAS, the County of Harnett desires to study the feasibility of providing
wastewater collection and treatment in the Anderson Creek -- Johnsonville area of
the County; and
WHEREAS, funds for a 201 Facilities Plan is being sought by the Board of
Commissioners for said area; and
WHEREAS, it appears necessary to develop a plan which could include portions
of Cumberland County and the Town of Spring Lake and the need exists to bring all
these interests together for a "meeting of minds." ,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, that
Jack Brock, County Manager, is directed and hereby authorized to meet with the
interested parties and the County Engineer, Moore, Gardner $ Associates, Inc., to
work out a plan of action in securing federal and state grant funds for developing
the necessary feasibilities study.
