I am sorry that I can not be present to present this beautiful gift, to my adopted county, some 40 years ago. Let's not mention how I came in possession of this Beautiful Flag; matters not, it was honorable. There is one thing sure, I did not receive it be deserting my country, when I was call to serve it. So I will not be asking Our President for Amnesty. This flag is the Symbol of our great nation, who brave pat- riotic men have fought, struggled and died for its cause. I give this Beautiful Flag to Harnett County as a memorial, in memory of all the patriotic citizens who answered the call of duty, when our country needed us; and I hope and pray that should our great country call our men and women to defend this Great nation, they will rally to its defense with pat- riotism, Love and Loyalty, and support it in every way poss- ible to preserve our land and our Sacred Symbol of Liberty, Justice and Freedom forever, for all. Never let this Beautiful Flag Fall. /s/ Kinchen W. Ballentine The meeting adjourned at 11:00 A.M. y 7, ?& airman 9/, Clerk
