HomeMy WebLinkAbout1017198841 SOUTH WEST WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT PUBLIC HEARING, OCTOBER 17, 1988 The Harnett County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing regarding the proposed Southwest Water and Sewer District of Harnett County on October 17, 1988, at the County Office Building, Lillington, North Carolina, with the following members present: Rudy Collins, Mack Reid Hudson, Mayo Smith, and Vice - Chairman Bill Shaw presiding. Chairman Lloyd G. Stewart was absent. Others present were: Dallas H. Pope, County Manager; Glenn Johnson, County Attorney; John M. Phelps, II, Public Utilities Attorney; Vanessa W. Young, Clerk to the Board, and Kay S. Blanchard, Recording Secretary. Vice - Chairman Shaw called the public hearing to order at 7 p.m. Rev. N. L. Stroud offered the invocation. John M. Phelps, II, Public Utilities Attorney, briefed the group that the purpose of the public hearing was to allow the public to comment concerning the proposed Southwest Water and Sewer District. Joe Hardee, Engineer, Black and Veatch, Inc., provided an overview of the proposed district. PUBLIC COMMENTS The following citizens spoke in support of the proposed Southwest Water and Sewer District: CLOSED 1. Rev. N. L. Stroud, Chairman of Advisory Committee for proposed district. 2. James Osborne, Rt. 6, Sanford 3. George Simmons, Fire Department Representative 4. Carter Bunnell, Rt. 3, Cameron 5. Paul Richardson, Rt. 6, Olivia 6. Delfen Adams, Olivia 7. W. J. McCullough, Swan Station No one spoke in opposition to the proposed district.
