CALL TO ORDER
INVOCATION
BENHAVEN EMER.
SERV. TAX LEVY
CHANGE
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Wednesday,
July 27, 1988, at the County Office Building, Lillington, North Carolina, with
the following members present: Bill Shaw, Mack Reid Hudson, and Chairman
Lloyd G. Stewart presiding. Others present were: Vanessa W. Young, Clerk to
the Board and Kay S. Blanchard, Recording Secretary.
Chairman Stewart called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
Commissioner Hudson offered the invocation.
The Board considered the application by Benhaven Emergency Services, Inc. for
the levying of a tax within the Benhaven Emergency Service District in the
amount of .08 per $100.00 valuation for fire protection and .02 per $100.00
valuation for emergency ambulance and rescue service for the fiscal year
1988 -89. The Board was advised that Benhaven Emergency Services, Inc. was
requesting such levies in lieu of the levies previously requested for said
fiscal year because data resulting from the revaluation of property within the
District indicated that said levies of .08 and .02 respectively would be
sufficient to meet the financial needs of Benhaven Emergency Services, Inc.
based upon the revaluation information now available. Therefore, based on
motion made by Commissioner Shaw, seconded by Commissioner Hudson, and passed
by unanimous vote a levy of .08 per $100.00 valuation for fire protection
service and a levy of .02 per $100.00 valuation for emergency ambulance and
rescue service within the Benhaven Emergency Service District were levied for
fiscal year 1988 -89.
ADJOURNED There being no further business the Harnett County Board of Commissioners
special meeting of July 27, 1988, duly adjourned at 3:10 p.m.
