PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING EXPANSION OF FLAT BRANCH FIRE DISTRICT, DECEMBER 21, 1987 1 CALL TO ORDER PURPOSE PUBLIC COMMENTS LOSED On December 21, 1987, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing concerning expansion of Flat Branch Fire District in the County Office Building, Lillington, North Carolina, with the following members present: Bill Shaw, Rudy Collins, Mack Reid Hudson, Mayo Smith and Chairman Lloyd G. Stewart presiding. Others present were: Vanessa W. Young, Clerk to the Board; Dallas H. Pope, County Manager; Glenn Johnson, County Attorney, and Kay S. Blanchard, Recording Secretary. Chairman Stewart called the public hearing to order at 7:00 p.m. Attorney Holt Felmet explained that the purpose of the public hearing was to hear public comments concerning expansion of the Fire District. Chairman Stewart opened the meeting for public comments. The following citizens spoke in support of the expansion of Flat Branch Fire District: 1. Holt Felmet, Rt. 1, Box 148, Bunnlevel, NC 2. Johnnie L. Taylor, Rt. 2, Box 258, Lillington, NC 3. Paul G. Walsa, Rt. 4, Box 29, Lillington, NC 4. Bobby Kennedy, Chief, Flat Branch Fire Dept. 5. Bobbie Jean McKoy, Rt. 4, Box 28, Lillington, NC No one present spoke against expansion of Flat Branch Fire District. Young, Cled.te4le Board .d ciatioA Kay S,.j"Blanchard, Secretary * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING RELOCATION OF BOUNDARY LINE BETWEEN FLAT BRANCH FIRE DISTRICT AND FLATWOODS FIRE DISTRICT, DECEMBER 21, 1987 CALL TO ORDER PURPOSE On December 21, 1987, the Harnett County Boad of Commisiioners held a public hearing concerning relocation of boundary line between Flat Branch Fire District and Flatwoods Fire District in the County Office Building, Lillington, North Carolina, with the following members present: Bill Shaw, Rudy Collins, Mack Reid Hudson, Mayo Smith and CHairman Lloyd G. Stewart presiding. Others present were: Vanessa W. Young, Clerk to the Board; Dallas H. Pope, County Manager; Glenn Johnson, County Attonrey, and Kay S. Blanchard, Recording Secretary. Chairman Stewart called the public hearing to order at 7:20 p.m. Attorney Holt Felmet explained that the purpose of the public hearing was to hear public comments concerning relocation of boundary lines between Flat Branch Fire District and Flatwoods Fire Dlstrict. PUBLIC COMMENTS Chairman Stewart opened the meeting for public comments. CLOSED Bobby Kennedy, Chief, Flat Branch Fire Department, spoke in support of the relocation of boundary line stating that the reason for requested change is to have a natural boundary between the two fire districts making it easier to determine what department should respond to a particular call. Mr. Kennedy was representing several citizens in the Flat Branch Fire District. Holt Felmet spoke in support of the relocation of the boundary line. No one present spoke against the relocation of the boundary line between Flat Branch Fire District and Flatwoods Fire District.
