HomeMy WebLinkAbout0429198241 HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW - 1982 FIRST MEETING APRIL 29, 1982 SECOND MEETING MAY 13, 1982 The first meeting of the Harnett County Board of Equalization and Review was held on April 29, 1982, from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon in the Commissioners Room, County Office Building, Lillington, North Carolina, as was duly advertised, with the following members present: Rudy Collins, Bill Shaw, Lloyd G. Stewart. The following oath was administered by Ruby Currin with the Clerk of Superior Court and each commissioner present ascribed thereto: HARNETT COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA I, , do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and maintain the Constitution and laws of the United States, and the Constitution and laws of North Carolina, not inconsistent therewith, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of my office as a member of the Board of Equalization and Review of Harnett County, North Carolina, and that I will not allow my actions as a member of the Board of Equalization and Review to be influenced by personal or political friendships or obligations so help me, God. The following property owners appeared before the first Board of Equalization and Review: 1. Mattia Martha Miller appeared before the Board and requested that the Board review Lot No. 143, Section 2, Anderson Creek Homes, located in Anderson Creek township and valued at $1,620. After the property was reviewed, it was the decision of the Board to reduce this property to $600. 2. Joseph T. Plummer appeared before the Board on behalf of Joseph Ted Plummer and Ingrid concerning their 12.83 acre tract located in Anderson Creek township valued at $5,360. This land was priced incorrectly at $550 per acre base. It was the decision of the Board of Equalization and Review to correct the error which reduced the value of the land to $2,920. 3. Charles R. Pinckney appeared before the Board on behalf of Charles R. Pinckney and Kathryne concerning the appraised value of $16,540 of lot No. 29, Clover Terrace Subdivision located in Averasboro township. This value was explained to him and there was no other action taken by the Board of Equalization and Review on this matter. 4. Jerry Fallin appeared before the Board and requested that certain informa- tion concerning a 3.83 acre tract located in Barbecue township be cor- rected and the value be corrected correspondingly. It was the decision of the Board of Equalization and Review to make the correction and reduce the value to $1,610. 5. William A. Tart appeared before the Board on behalf of William A. & Pearl B. Tart on 29/100 acre lot, Quail Ridge Ext., located in Grove Township. There were no changes made concerning this property The Board of Equalization and Review recessed until May 13, 1982, which would be the date of the second Board of Equalization and Review. The second meeting of the Board of Equalization and Review was held on May 13, 1982, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the Commissioners Room, County Office Building, Lillington, North Carolina, as was duly advertised with the following members present: Jesse Alphin, Rudy Collins, and Bill Shaw. The following oath was administered to Jesse Alphin: HARNETT COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA I, , do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and maintain the Constitution and laws of the United States, and the Constitution and laws of North Carolina, not inconsistent therewith, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of my office as a member of the Board of Equalization and Review of Harnett County, North Carolina, and that I will not allow my actions as a member of the Board of Equalization and Review to be influenced by personal or polictical friendships or obligations so help me, God. The following property owners appeared before the second Board of Equalization and Review: 1. Taft Bullard appeared before the Board concerning 90 acres located in Johnsonville Township on behalf of Josephine Bullard. Mr. Bullard stated that there was an error in the location of the property, and it was the decision of the Board of Equalization and Review to correct this error which changed the value of the property from $28,350 to $21,420. 42 THIRD. MEETING. -: May 20, 1982 ADJOURNMENT 2. Melvin Stanley appeared before the. Board on behalf of O. Melvin and Margie concerning a barn on 41.30 acre tract located in Upper Little River Township. After the property was reviewed, it was the decision of the Board to change the value of the barn which would reduce the total value of this property to $58,650. J. W. sheppard appeared before the Board concerning an addition 'made ontheir house which is to date incomplete. ° The value of this addition reflected the value for a completed addition. After the property was reviewed, it was the decision of the Board that this property remain at its value of $41,280 since th addition was not complete. - - The Board of Equalization and Review recessed untily May 20, 1982, :which would be the date of the third Board of Equalization and Review. The third and final: Board of Equalization' and ::Rey ew-was' held on May 20, 1982, in the Commissioners Room; County Office Building,. Lillington, North Carolina, as was duly advertised, with the following members present M. H. Brock, Jesse Alphin, and Lloyd G. Stewart. The following oath was administered and, M. H.
