HomeMy WebLinkAbout02201989 (2)220 PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING ZONING CHANGE REQUESTS, FEBRUARY 20, 1989 TPUBLIC,HEARING- HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Lillington, NC 27546 February 20, 1989 7:00 P.m. The. Harnett County Board of Commissioners met on Monday, February 20, 1989 at 7:00 p.m. in the County Administration Building at 102 East Front Street in Lillington, North Carolina. Members present were Mr. Lloyd Stewart, Chairman, Mr. Bill Shaw, Vice Chairman, Mr. Rudy Collins, Mr. Mack Reid Hudson, and Mr. Mayo Smith. Also present were Mr. Dallas Pope, County Manager, Carla Stephens, Planning Supervisor, Greg Wilder, Planner, Emily Pennington, Recording Secretary, and several citizens of the county representing the Zoning Change applications. Mr. Stewart called the meeting to order and Bill Shaw gave the invocation. Mr. Stewart explained the purpose and procedure of each hearing. The following applications were considered at the public hearing: ZONING CHANGE REQUESTS: 1. Beasley, Clio, Jr., From Industrial Zoning District to RA -30 Zoning District, Averasboro Township, S.R. 1709 Mr. Stewart called the Beasley hearing to order and Carla Stephens--discussed the - .facts of the application.' Mr. Beasley represented the application. Two citizens spoke in favor of the request: Those citizens were: Dr.` Talbot Spence - President of Bible Foundation College 2. Billy Norris - father -in -law of Mr. Beasley No one spoke in opposition. application. Mr. Stewart closed the Beasley public hearing. 2. Tart, Donnie Lee, From Industrial Zoning District to RA -20M Zoning District, Averasboro Township, S.R. 1805 - Mr. Stewart called the Tart hearing to order and Carla Stephens discussed the facts of the application. Mr. Tart represented the application. Two citizens spoke in favor of the request: Those citizens were: 1. Anthony Penny 2. Phoebe T. Parker 221 No one spoke in opposition. Mr. Stewart closed the Tart public hearing. 3. Turlington, Dennis Pope, From RA -30 Zoning District to RA- 20M Zoning District, Grove Township, S.R. 2005 - Mr. Stewart called the Turlington hearing to order and Carla Stephens discussed the facts of the application. Mr. Turlington represented the application. Several property owners in the area opposed the request. Following is a list of those citizens: 1. John Williams 2. Charles Ogburn 3. Bobby Byrd 4. Ricky Tart 5. Julia Gregory 6. Judy Turlington 7. Bickett Turlington John Williams presented the board with a petition signed by 49 citizens opposing the zoning change request. Mr. Stewart closed the Turlington public hearing. NOTE: The County Commissioners voted on each zoning change request during their regular scheduled meeting and not during the public hearing.
