HomeMy WebLinkAbout061112mbphHARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Minutes of Special Session Public Hearing on Proposed FY 2012 -2013 Budget June 11, 2012 The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Monday, June 11, 2012, in the Commissioners Meeting Room, County Administration Building, 102 East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina. Members present: Staff present: Timothy B. McNeill, Chairman Beatrice B. Hill, Vice Chairman Dan B. Andrews, Commissioner Gary House, Commissioner Jim Burgin, Commissioner Scott Sauer, County Manager Tony Wilder, Deputy County Manager Dwight Snow, Staff Attorney Sylvia Blinson, Finance Officer Margaret Regina Wheeler, Clerk to the Board Chairman McNeill called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm and led the pledge of allegiance and invocation. Chairman McNeill announced the cancellation of the Board's special session scheduled for Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Chairman McNeill called to order a public hearing on the proposed FY 2012 -2013 budget and opened the floor for comments from the public. Christine Perry, 130 Pine Street West and president of the Harnett Welfare Coalition, spoke in support of restoring an Animal Shelter attendant position. Ms. Perry said 1007 fewer animals were impounded at the shelter between 2010 and 2011 because there wasn't enough staff to pick up all of the stray animals. Chairman McNeill responded that the requested position had been restored in earlier budget discussions. Seeing no one else move, Chairman McNeill thanked everyone for coming and closed the public hearing. The meeting adjourned at 7 :04 Timothy cNeill, Chairman et Regina eeler, Clerk
