Why are you requesting this use? I am requesting for the use of an existing structure located on the property, to be used for Gunsmithing and repair, occasional ordering of firearms and assembly of such. have contacted the county sheriff with the request and am now waiting for approval from the Zoning Board to obtain my Federal Firearms License. 2. How will this use benefit the citizens of Harnett County? My business will be generating revenue for the county with sales tax collection as well as providing a vital service to the surrounding community by making sure the local hunters and sport shooters are in possession of safe and reliable firearms. On -site & Surrounding Land Uses 3. How will the use you are requesting affect the surrounding properties, residents and businesses in the area? Describe in detail why and how it will or will not affect the surrounding areas? The business will have little or no affect to surrounding properties as I will not disturb the site with any new buildings or signs. Utilities, Access Roads, Drainage, etc... 4. Describe the driveway (width and surface) that you will be using to enter and exit the property. Mostly sand and some gravel approximately 15' wide. 5. Describe the drainage of this property. The property has a natural slope to drain and will not need any construction at all. 6. How is your trash and garbage going to get to the landfill? I have a truck to remove any and all of my rubbish to the landfill. Traffic 7. Describe the traffic conditions and sight distances at the State Road that serves the property. What experience do you have in the proposed field? I have been using firearms of many types for most of my life and have a lifetime hunting license I have completed the gun safety course and do possess a concealed -carry permit I am applying for gunsmithing courses over the internet Conditions 12. State any conditions that you would be willing to consider as part of the approved Conditional Use Permit. I have talked to Sheriff Rollins about sponsoring gun safety courses and concealed -carry courses. As a law- abiding citizen I am willing to accept any recommendations the board may suggest that might be in any helpful to me or the surrounding community. 13. Additional comments the Board should consider in reviewing your application: I would very much like to be a functioning asset to advance the gun safety habits of our youth as well as the many hunter and sport shooters we have in the community. Page 4 of 5 APPLICATION FOR NON - RESIDENTIAL CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT Action by the Board of Adjustment The Board of Adjustment shall approve, modify, or deny the Application for Conditional Use Permit following the Public Hearing. In granting a Conditional Use Permit, the Board of Adjustment shall make written findings that the applicable regulations of the district in which it is located are fulfilled. With due regard to the nature and state of all adjacent structures and uses, the district within which it is located and official plans for future development, the Board of Adjustment shall also make written findings that the following provisions are fulfilled: 3.1 The requested use will not impair the integrity or character of the surrounding area 3.2 The requested use will not be detrimental to the public health, morals or welfare 3.3 Adequate utilities, access roads, drainage, sanitation and /or other necessary facilities have been made or are being provided 3.4 That adequate measures have been or will be taken to provide ingress and egress so designed as to minimize traffic congestion in the public streets 3.5 That the conditional use shall, in all other respects, conform to the applicable regulations of the district in which it is located, except as such regulations may, in each instance, be modified by the Board of Adjustment. Note: There must be four (4) Board of Adjustment members present at the meeting to hear a request for a Conditional Use Permit. Four (4) out of the five (5) board members must vote in favor of grating the Permit. If only four (4) board members are present at the meeting then all four (4) must vote in favor of granting the Permit.
