HomeMy WebLinkAboutLocally Designated Historic Landmark Ordinance Harnett CountyHARNETT COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA RESOLUTION OF ADOPTION LOCALLY DESIGNATED HISTORIC LANDMARK HARNETT COUNTY WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County adopted a Historic Preservation Ordinance on October 18, 2006 for the purposes of regulating historic landmarks and historic districts and to also recommend designated areas in the County to the National Register; and WHEREAS, this ordinance was adopted under authority granted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, particularly G.S. 153A -340; and WHEREAS, the Architectural Survey, completed in February of 2004, determined that the Johnson Farm is potentially eligible for the National Register and warranted further study, and accordingly was added to the study list of potential nominations to the National Register; and WHEREAS, the Harnett County Historic Properties Commission has reviewed the application for local designation and recommends the adoption; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA fully recognizes the Johnson Farm as being on the National Register of Historic Places and now as a locally designated historic landmark. Duly adopted this 21" day of June, 2010 and effective upon adoption.
