Front Street Lillington, NC Dear Mr. Emory, CEIVED _,,PR 1 1008 HgRN MA A"Pe,,S 0 F CE It is with pleasure that 1 write to you with a remarkable cultural opportunity for the State of North Carolina and Harnett County to be represented by a very talented group of Suzuki Violinists who will be touring England for two weeks this summer. This group, consisting of sixty residents of six counties and nine cities in North Carolina will be performing by invitation from the Mayor's of both Taunton and Bath, UK and will include concerts with local Suzuki violinists. This trip is inspired by a wish to create a stronger world by fostering international relations through the language of music and the sharing of culture. These exemplary young violinists will be led on this musical tour by Mrs. Joanne Bath, Hardy Distinguished Professor of Suzuki Pedagogy at East Carolina University, as well as Mrs. Pamela Kelly, Director of Strings Program at Campbell University. Their reputations in our country as well as in Europe have once again earned us this great honor. This tour will be Mrs. Bath and Mrs. Kelly's eighth international music tour since 1986. Enclosed is a list of Harnett County musicians who will be performing. It would be a great honor if you would send them with an official designation as Cultural Ambassadors. These young musicians will represent Harnett County with the greatest of pride! Our tour begins on June 7, 2008. Your prompt response would be most appreciated. Sincerely, Julie A.
