HomeMy WebLinkAboutEngineer Comments Page 1 of 1 From: John AK Tucker PE [johnak@johntuckerpe.com] Sent: Thursday, August 23, 2007 4:52 PM To: Samantha Ficzko Subject: Lexington Plantation Dear Samantha:   As you recall, I met you and Jay Sykes at the latest phase of Lexington Plantation.  Our purpose was to evaluate the disturbed areas in the project and determine if they had been stabilized.  Stabilized means there is sufficient vegetation established to prevent erosion of the disturbed areas.   We went to each street and look at the disturbed areas including right of ways, lots and  erosion control devices ( sediment traps, diversion swales, etc.)  Copies of the photographs you took are attached.   While there seems to have been some attempt to seed and mulch a portion of the right of ways, much of it is still bare.  Most of the lot areas that were cleared lack any vegetation.  In addition, there several areas where the diversion swales have deeply eroded; in one case the concrete culvert has been exposed.   Based on my visit and the attached photographs, it is my opinion the site is in general is not stabilized.  In addition, it appears the sediment basins and diversion swales and silt fence require maintenance.     Please call me if you have any questions.   Regards,     John A.K.
