Forest Ridge/Court of Appeals Decision
Ladies and Gentlemen: I am pleased to report that the North Carolina Court of Appeals affirmed the decision of
The Honorable Frank Lanier and upheld the decision of Judge Lanier and the Harnett County Board of
Adjustment in an unpublished opinion in the case Bazzarre vs. Harnett County Board of Adjustment and Forest
Ridge. As I am sure you recall, this is the case in which the residents of Melody Lane objected to the planned unit
development of Forest Ridge. Harnett County entered into a development agreement with Forest Ridge for the
installation of line to serve Fort Bragg’s Northern Training Area. The decision of the Court of Appeals was
unanimous and the only way the residents can appeal is by receiving a grant of review by the Supreme Court,
which is highly unlikely. Congratulations!
