Chris,
I just briefly spoke with Joseph regarding this development and your concern with the number of entrances. He
advised me that you do NOT need to apply for a variance. You will need to resubmit plans to the Planning Board so
that they can make a determination regarding the number of entrances. If you read the section that addresses this, you
will see the various reasons the Planning Board can use to make that decision. Joseph has advised me that you will first
need to address the street length and density issues before the plans are resubmitted. If you remember, the watershed
density will be addressed at the County Commissioners meeting Monday May 21, 2007. Hopefully that issue will take
care of itself. I do not have any further information at this time. Mark, Joseph, and I will be meeting on this either later
today or Wednesday and I will get back to you with how to proceed further.

Attached is the resolution for the text amendment to our subdivision ordinance regarding subdivision entrances. The
amendment was approved by the County Commissioners on February 19, 2007.
The ordinance available on our website should include this; however is not updated to amendments through April
2007. Our website is www.harnett.org/planning.
