HomeMy WebLinkAbout080307w HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Minutes of Special Meeting (work session) August 3, 2007 The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday, August 3, 2007, in the Commissioners Conference Room, County Administration Building, 102 East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina. Members present: Beatrice B. Hill, Vice Chairman Dan B. Andrews Tim McNeill Gary House Chairman Teddy J. Byrd was absent. Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board Joseph Jeffries, Director, Planning Department Mark Locklear, Manager, Planning Services Vice Chairman Hill called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m. Mr. Emory gave commissioners copies a letter to be submitted to the state regarding reactivation of mental health beds at Good Hope. The group toured subdivisions in the northern area of the County and returned to Commissioners Conference Room at 2 p.m. Rodney Tart, Director, Public Utilities, addressed the Board regarding the extension of a sewer line along Buffalo Lakes Road and Highway 87. Mr. Emory noted that the School Board would like to transfer the old Harnett Primary School to the County who would then transfer it to the City of Dunn. The building currently houses the Dunn Senior Center, PALS, and the Harnett High School Alumni Association. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2:50 p.m.
