(Airport Project Update)
April 30 2004
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday, April
30, 2004, in the Persolll1el Department conference room, County Administration
Building, 102 East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina.

Beatrice B. Hill, Vice Chairman

Staff present:
Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Guest:
Steve Bright, Talbert & Bright, Inc.
Chairman Byrd called the meeting to order at 11 :00 a.m. and called on Steve Bright
for a presentation. Mr. Bright provided an update on the Airport Expansion Project,
including a preliminary project schedule. Chairman Byrd noted that 45 days prior to
closing the portion of Airport Road and Old Stage Road for relocation, that letters and
other means of notification should be provided to the affected residents. Mr. Bright
reviewed a map of the area around the airport and noted that some power lines would
have to be relocated and that the county needs to acquire certain parcels of property.
After discussion by the Board, and there being no further business, the special
meeting, April 30, 2004, adjourned at 12:30 p .
