051206w HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Minutes of Special Meeting (work session) May 12, 2006 The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday, May 12, 2006, in the conference room, Human Resources Department, County Administration Building, 102 East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina. Members present: Teddy J. Byrd, Chairman Beatrice B. Hill, Vice Chairman Dan B. Andrews Walt Titchener Tim McNeill Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board Guest: Rhonda Viechnicki Chairman Byrd called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m. and called on Mr. Emory. Mr. Emory led a discussion on the following items: - Interviews for Planning Director will begin soon. - NACoPrescription Card Offer - The County, Erwin and the Town of Angier received PARTF Grants totaling 1 million dollars. - Possible development of a river park in Lillington - Future development of the 1,000 acre park in Anderson Creek - Master Plan for parks and recreation in the county - Health facility possibilities in the county - Progress of Tax Department in “cleaning up” accounts - Request from Harry Burtner to showcase display of USS Harnett County ship that was used in World War II and Vietnam Conflict There being no further business, the work session adjourned at 1:30 p.m. _______________________________ Teddy J.
