2021/04/19 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE BY HARNETT COUNTY OF A JETPPORT HANGAR ��5 Harnett C COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA www.harnett.org A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE BY HARNETT COUNTY OF A JETPORT HANGAR THAT WHEREAS, Warren Investment Company of North Carolina, Inc., a North Carolina Corporation("Warren Investment")was formerly known as Warren Investment Company of Alabama, Inc. until it changed its corporate name effective April 18, 2013; and, WHEREAS, Harnett County ("the County") is the owner of the Harnett Regional Jetport at 615 Airport Road,Erwin,North Carolina 28339 which is located off U.S.Highway 421 between the Town of Erwin and the Village of Buies Creek; that as part of its Jetport operations,the County issues ground leases to third parties for certain areas of the Jetport for the installation and operation of aircraft hangars; and WHEREAS, Warren Investment is the lessee in a Hangar Ground Lease with the County on an approximate 80 ft. x 80 ft. ground lease tract upon which stands an aircraft hangar structure which is contained within that area composed of 0.36 acre identified as "For lease purposes only" as shown on that plat recorded in Plat Cabinet D, Page 161-D, Harnett County Registry; and WHEREAS, Warren Investment has made the decision that it desires to sell its aircraft hangar at the Harnett Regional Jetport; that the Harnett County Board of Commissioners has determined that it would be conducive to its Jetport operations and in the best interests of the County to procure the aircraft hangar from Warren Investment together with the voluntary termination of any leasehold rights that Warren Investment may have pursuant to the previous ground lease agreement; that the parties have negotiated a purchase agreement based upon Warren Investment's unencumbered transfer of ownership of the aircraft hangar to the County and the strong roots • new growth termination of the ground lease for the purchase price of one hundred sixty thousand dollars ($160,000.00). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Harnett County Board of Commissioners that the Harnett County Manager and her staff are hereby authorized to enter into and close a purchase agreement with Warren Investment for the purchase of its aircraft hangar hereinabove described together with the release and termination of any leasehold rights that Warren Investment may have pursuant to that Hangar Ground Lease dated September 1, 1997, and any amendments, renewals, or extensions thereto for a purchase price of one hundred sixty thousand dollars ($160,000.00) which said sum shall be appropriated from the County's general fund balance.
