Minutes of Special Meeting (work session)
March 16, 2007
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday, March 16,
2007, in the Commissioners Conference Room, County Administration Building, 102
East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: Teddy J. Byrd, Chairman
Beatrice B. Hill, Vice Chairman
Tim McNeill
Gary House
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Jennifer Slusser, Staff Attorney
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Mr. Emory led a discussion of the following items in a work session format.
- financing for schools, jail, solid waste transfer station, and other projects
- reported on meeting with developer of a new phase of Anderson Creek Club
- N. C. Association of County Commissioners District Meetings
- location and ownership of new water tank to serve Dunn.
At 12:00 Mr. Emory introduced Donald Pierce, Pierce Group Benefits, who made a
presentation regarding Employee Benefit Solutions.
Commissioner McNeill noted that an additional medical examiner to serve Harnett
County is needed.
Chairman Byrd would like to invite N.C. Department of Transportation representatives to
a work session to discuss the road improvements process and priority list, prior to the
annual public hearing regarding the matter.
There being no further comments, Commissioner McNeill moved to adjourn. Vice
Chairman Hill seconded the motion and it pass unanimously. The Harnett County Board
of commissioners work session, March 16, 2007, adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
