Minutes of Special Meeting (work session)
November 17, 2006
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday,
November 17, 2006, in the Commissioners Conference Room, County Administration
Building, 102 East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina.

Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Chairman Byrd called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m. and called on Mr. Emory.

Mr. Emory reviewed tentative plans for the December 4 meeting and swearing-in of
newly elected officials.
Mr. Emory noted that Republic Waste has asked for an increase in rate for disposing of
trash from Harnett County landfills. The Board authorized Mr. Emory and Jerry
Blanchard, Solid Waste Director, to negotiate rate and terms with Republic Waste.
Mr. Emory informed the Board that the Godwin family has requested that the house on
property purchased from the Godwins not be burned for training exercises by the Fire
Marshal’s office.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 12:40 p.m.
